Biography of Thomas J. Pachera – MS in Technology Education from Eastern Michigan University and a BA in Industrial Education and Theatre from Central Michigan University. I have taught Technology Education for seventeen Years, the past ten at Forsythe Middle School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The first seven years at Parcells Middle School in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. I teach sixth, seventh, and eighth grade Technology Education courses as well as one class per semester in the School of Technology Studies at Eastern Michigan University. I utilize my Theatre Education and experience as Forsythe’s Auditorium Manager. Next year I will begin a new teaching experience at Ann Arbor’s New High School, Skyline. I have been on the planning team for three years and was recently selected to be the Design, Technology & Environmental Technology Magnet Lead Teacher. During the summer months I own and operate, Pachera Construction, a small construction company specializing in decks. I am active in the community through Huron Valley Habitat for Humanity where I serve as Zion Lutheran Church’s representative for the Cornerstone House sponsor group. The Pachera family; Tom, Amy, Nicholas and Zachary make our home in Ann Arbor, and love being a part of the community that I teach in. I teach Technology Education because, “students can use all of what the learn in their academic classes to do real world problem solving.” “Technology Education…Where nature and the human made world come together”
